The Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu (UNIB), made an impressive mark at the 12th International Conference on Integration of Science and Technology for Sustainable Development (12th ICIST 2024), held from November 29 to December 1, 2024, at Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University, Thailand. The conference, under the theme “Soil, Water and Environmental Conservation, Biological Diversity, Food Security/Safety, and Sustainable Agriculture,” saw the participation of distinguished researchers and students from various countries.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Indra Cahyadinata, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at UNIB, presented his research on the socioeconomic aspects of agriculture, contributing valuable insights to global discussions on sustainable agricultural practices. His presentation was a testament to the faculty’s commitment to advancing agricultural science and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration.

Highlighting the international exposure of UNIB’s agricultural research, undergraduate student Indah Liswanti (Agroecotechnology Study Program) also had the opportunity to present her research at the event. Under the supervision of Prof. M. Chozin, Indah presented her paper titled “Growth and Yield of Maize Treated with Plant-Based Liquid Fertilizers at Varying Concentrations and Frequency of Application,” which garnered attention from researchers across the globe. Indah shared the stage with other researchers from Thailand, the Philippines, India, and more, marking a proud moment in her academic journey.

Indah expressed immense pride in representing her university at such a prestigious international seminar, gaining invaluable experience and exposure. Dr. Indra hopes that this achievement will inspire other students to follow suit and participate in international conferences, showcasing the potential of UNIB’s students and researchers on the global stage.

The Faculty of Agriculture at UNIB continues to pave the way for international collaboration in research, fostering a dynamic environment for both faculty and students to engage in cutting-edge agricultural science and contribute to global sustainability efforts.
