Vice Dean Opens Pre-Orientation for New Marine Science Students 2024 at Bengkulu Naval Base
Bengkulu, December 21, 2024 — The Vice Dean for Student Affairs of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Hesty Pujiwati, officially opened the Pre-Orientation Program for New Marine Science Students 2024. The event took place at the Bengkulu Naval Base (Lanal) on Saturday, December 21, 2024, starting at 8:00 AM.
The Bengkulu Naval Colonel, Octo Manurung, attended the opening ceremony, along with advisors of the Marine Science Student Association (HIMAILKA) and lecturers of the Marine Science Program. A total of 58 new students from the 2024 cohort participated in this event.
The ceremony began with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, a prayer, and a speech from Colonel Octo Manurung. During the event, Colonel Octo Manurung symbolically handed pins to representatives of the new students. Additionally, Dr. Hesty Pujiwati, representing the Faculty of Agriculture, presented a plaque of appreciation to Colonel Octo Manurung for his support of the program. The opening ceremony concluded with a group photo session.
Pre-Orientation Activities
The Pre-Orientation Program, known as “Pra Ombak,” is scheduled to take place over two days, from December 21 to December 22, 2024. The program aims to foster teamwork, discipline, and leadership qualities among the new students.
The activities planned for the program include:
- Teamwork and discipline training.
- Survival training in natural environments.
- Leadership development sessions.
- First Aid Emergency Response (PPGD) training.
- Marching drills.
The program will conclude with a closing ceremony on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 4:00 PM.
This program is expected to shape Marine Science students into cohesive, disciplined, and strong-integrity individuals with high enthusiasm and a spirit of togetherness. The Faculty of Agriculture and the Bengkulu Naval Base hope this initiative marks a positive beginning for the new students as they embark on their academic and organizational journey.
